This Scholarship is available to African citizens to pursue (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa.
The LLM/MPhil in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa is a prestigious one-year intensive course where 25-30 exceptional individuals spend 6 months in Pretoria and 6 months at one of the 13 partner universities all over Africa. They are taught by eminent lecturers in the field of human rights and undergo many practical training exercises. It is the only course of its kind in Africa.
Graduates become members of the HRDA Alumni Association whose 482 members are currently active in the full spectrum of human rights work: from grassroots, through civil service, to international organisations including the African Union and the United Nations.

Who Can Apply for Full African Scholarships?
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate human rights experience or interest.
- Applicants must be citizens of the above mentioned countries
- Applicants must be Proficient In English language
- Applicants must have completed their Undergraduate degree program
- Applicants with a degree in LLB can apply for this scholarship
